July 2023

For the Fourth of July Sage took his first trip up to Yosemite and got to spend time outside in nature exploring with his family! Sage was crawling all over the house and even began navigating the stairs, with close monitoring by nervous parents! While in Yosemite and Bass Lake Sage was able to experience swimming in the lake for the first time (though was not a fan of the cold water) along with some wonderful mountainous hikes and walks!

As Sage’s hair was growing like crazy we also took our first trip to the barber shop and Sage did awesome with his first haircut. He absolutely loved sitting in the little fire truck while getting his hair cut.

With a fresh haircut Sage went on his second flight, this time to Montana to visit Glacier National Park! Sage did phenomenal on this trip and was able to go on so many hikes while seeing a beautiful part of the country! Sage even got up and personal with some amazing wildlife and he loved it!

June 2023

June was exciting because family from Reno traveled to California for a family visit and Sage got to spend lots of time with his cousins! Sage is just slightly younger than his cousin Adelaide and she was motivation to get him standing and trying to take steps because he wanted to keep up with the other kiddos!

Sage along with his cousins and family took a trip to the Zoo for the first time and while Sage enjoyed all the animals, he really enjoyed watching the penguins swim from the underwater view point!

Sage also had another trip to the beach, though, his parents limited the sand exposure because he probably would have tried to eat it all!

After celebrating his first Father’s days with his two dads (including some hand made cards) Sage also experienced his first baseball game at Padres Stadium in San Diego which was full of excitement!

May 2023

Sage is really progressing with his mobility and likes showing off how strong he is lifting weights. Sage truly became mobile as he started crawling and exploring the house in a more independent way!

Sage also took his first trip up the coast to see his great grandparents and some other family! Sage absolutely loves spending time around other kids and he really enjoyed this trip!

During Sage’s first trip to the Renaissance festival he was a king and treated like royalty by all the other visitors attending the event!

April 2023

After a long wait to build up Sage’s immune system we hosted a Sip N’ See to allow friends and family to come by our home and meet Sage. As expected he was a social butterfly and loved all the attention and of course the gifts.

There was plenty of time spent outside and new adventures including local hikes and Sage’s first time on a plane going to Hawaii! Sage loved time at the pool and on the beach and was able to take some naps in some of the most beautiful locations! He also was able to visit his first National Park, Haleakala, and get his first stamp in his national park passport!!

March 2023

March brought on so many new experiences… FOOD EXPERIENCES! At this point Sage was introduced to solid foods and he was loving every minute of it. Sage quickly became interested in exploring all types of foods, especially vegetables! These were quickly his favorite, especially tomatoes. We will be sure to remind him of this when he is older if he ever tries to avoid eating his veggies!

Sage also became quite interested in making music and sounds with the piano so we are sure he is going to love exploring music more and more as he grows.

Sage also had the opportunity to continue exploring his friendship with his cousins along with making new friends from some other little ones!

February 2023

February was full of sunshine, visitors and fun adventures. Playtime was brought outside and allowed lots of time soaking in the sunshine, with sunscreen of course, and further exploring the nature around!

Sage also got to meet one of his dad’s best friends Erin who lives in Virginia. After being spoiled from a distance Sage got some great quality time getting to know an important person to his family!

Sage also had his first trip to the beach, I am sure of many, and probably started his eventual love for fish and birds!

January 2023

Sage was able to celebrate his first New Years Eve beginning January surrounded by family and friends. Sage was becoming increasingly aware of his surroundings and was quick to lock on eye contact with those around him! Sage’s eyes are caring and thoughtful and you could really see him taking in the world around him. Sage started giving us little sneak peaks of his laugh and giggles and loved being held up in the air to look down upon his dads and puppies!

Sage also became increasingly interested in his toys and began investigating them, mainly by putting them in his mouth but investigating none the less! Sage also further grew his love for bathtime and long walks outside taking in the world around him.

December 2022

This month Sage began exploring the world so much more, on his own he began lifting up his head and looking around to engage with his toys and the world around him, his favorite being a finding Nemo play gym that had lots of lights and sounds.

During Sage’s first Christmas he had many family members travel from all around the country to spend time and visit with him! Sage’s cousins quickly became quite obsessed with him which I am sure is just the beginning of an amazing friendship going forward! Sage also went to his first Christmas farm and visited the snow for the first time!

November 2022

November was full of of firsts! Sage spent his first nights sleeping in his new home, met his new puppies for the first time, went to the doctors for the first time and even had his first bath given to him which was quite the shock to his system but with time he began to love this part of his daily routine! There was also an unexpected first haircut provided by his doctor so he could wear a futuristic ear prosthetic to assist with the molding of his ear. But most of all it was full of first time visits with many family members and loved ones over the Thanksgiving Holiday!

Everyone kept there masks on to keep little baby Sage healthy and happy but spoiled him with snuggles and cuddles as much as they could… or that his dads would allow!
